For auto detailing
Keep the polisher moving.
You can’t stop a polish pass to take a call, and Opulentus isn’t a live answering service. The caller gets a text from your business in seconds, tells you what the vehicle is and where it is, and you reply when the pads come off.
The calls a detailer misses.
Mid-panel
Compound is on the paint.
Stopping halfway down a fender leaves a mark you have to fix. The caller gets your text while the machine keeps spinning.
Mobile jobs
You’re on someone’s driveway.
Kneeling at a rocker panel with the extractor running, phone on the van seat. The lead still gets collected.
Coating work
A coating is on a clock.
Once it’s on, you have a window to level it. A ringing phone doesn’t move that window, so the text goes out while you keep working.
What a detailing caller sees.
This example uses your own first message, the ZIP code question, and the third question reworded as mobile or drop-off.
Example text. Example Detail Co. is a made-up business.
The questions you’d ask on the phone.
There are six, in a fixed order. Three are on when you start and three are off. You write the wording for all of them.
On to start
- Service. Interior, exterior, or both, and the year, make and model.
- ZIP code. Where the vehicle is sitting, which decides whether a mobile job is worth the drive.
- Urgency. Reword it as mobile or drop-off, so you know which half of your day the job belongs to.
Off until you want them
- Description. The one worth turning on here: pet hair, smoke, spills, or overspray.
- Photos. A picture of the back seat prices a job better than a sentence does.
- Callback. Best number and time, for the ceramic quotes you’d rather talk through.
Your rules for every missed call.
When it texts
- Busy or declined. The pair that matter most here. Your hands are on a machine, so you send the call away on purpose.
- Missed during hours. Covers the bays and the driveway jobs.
- After hours. Worth a switch if you take weekend bookings, because people book detailing around their own days off. More on after hours.
What it skips
- Hidden numbers. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs don’t get a text.
- Repeat callers. A cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops text after text.
- Opt-outs. The first text says “Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.
How it works.
Step one
Set it up yourself.
Start your free trial. Pick “Auto detailing” from the list, then write your message and your questions.
Step two
Forward your missed calls.
Keep the number on your wrap. On a cell phone, dial your carrier’s codes. On a VoIP line, your phone provider turns forwarding on. Then tap Verify. See the forwarding codes.
Step three
Finish the panel.
Missed callers get a text in seconds. Their answers land in your inbox, and you get a text alert when a lead comes in.
From a detailer
From a shop like yours.
“Half my day I physically can’t pick up. That used to just mean the call was gone. Now they hear from us anyway, and I see who it was when I put the buffer down.”

Questions detailers ask.
Is this an answering service for my detail shop?
No. Nobody answers your phone. The callers you miss get a text from your business, answer the questions you set, and land in your inbox as a lead.
Can it tell mobile jobs apart from shop drop-offs?
Yes. Reword the third question as a numbered choice, 1 for mobile and 2 for drop-off, and you know whether the job fits your route before you call back.
Can a caller send me a photo of the car?
Yes, if you turn the photo question on. It's off to start. A picture of a stained back seat tells you more about the job than a sentence does.
Is detailing in the setup list?
Yes. Auto detailing is one of the presets in setup, so pick it and keep going. Your message and your questions are yours to write either way.
Will it text the wholesale accounts that call me all day?
A per-caller cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops the same number getting text after text. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs get no text at all.
Do I have to change my number?
No. Customers keep calling the number on your wrap and your Google profile. Each business gets its own dedicated texting number, and the text goes out in your business's name.
What does it cost?
After a 14-day free trial: $169/mo month-to-month, $139/mo on a 12-month plan billed monthly, or $1,548 a year on a 12-month plan billed annually. A card is required to start, and you won't be charged if you cancel during the 14 days.
How do I know it's live before I start a job?
Setup ends with a Verify step that places a real test call and confirms your missed calls reach Opulentus. Run it before you pull the pads out.
