For pool service
Twelve pools today. Zero missed customers.
Route days mean gates, dogs, and both hands in the water, and Opulentus isn’t a live answering service. The caller gets a text from your business in seconds and says whether it’s weekly service or a green pool that needs rescuing.
The calls a route tech misses.
In the water
Test kit, brush, skimmer.
A phone near a pool gets dropped or shorted, so it stays in the truck. The caller still gets your questions.
Behind the gate
Latches, dogs, and a chatty homeowner.
Backyard access means you’re nowhere near the truck, and the phone is where you left it.
On the clock
Ten to fifteen stops a day.
The route only works if each stop stays short. A quote call in the middle costs you the end of the day.
What a pool caller sees.
This example uses your own first message, the ZIP code question, and the third question reworded as weekly service or a one-time cleanup.
Example text. Example Pool Care is a made-up business.
The questions you’d ask on the phone.
There are six, in a fixed order. Three are on when you start and three are off. You write the wording for all of them.
On to start
- Service. What the water is doing: green, cloudy, or losing level.
- ZIP code. Or the property address, so you can see whether it drops onto an existing route.
- Urgency. Reword it as weekly service, a one-time cleanup, or a repair.
Off until you want them
- Description. In-ground or above ground, roughly what size, and whether there’s a gate or a dog.
- Photos. One picture of the water tells you what a chemistry question can’t.
- Callback. Best number and time, for equipment repairs worth pricing by phone.
Your rules for every missed call.
When it texts
- Missed during hours. Carries the route, because that’s where your day is.
- Busy or declined. You were already on with a customer at the last stop.
- After hours. Worth it in opening and closing weeks, when homeowners uncover a pool at the weekend and call about what they find. More on after hours.
What it skips
- Hidden numbers. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs don’t get a text.
- Repeat callers. A cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops text after text.
- Opt-outs. The first text says “Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.
How it works.
Step one
Set it up yourself.
Start your free trial, pick Pool service, and write your message and your questions. Your words, your hours, your rules.
Step two
Forward your missed calls.
Keep the number on your truck. On a cell phone, dial your carrier’s codes. On a VoIP line, your phone provider turns forwarding on. Then tap Verify. See the forwarding codes.
Step three
Finish the route.
Missed callers get a text in seconds. Their answers land in your inbox, and you get a text alert when a lead comes in.

Questions pool pros ask.
Is this an answering service for pool companies?
No. Nobody answers your phone. Missed callers get a text from your business, answer the questions you set, and become a lead you reply to between stops.
Can it separate a service call from a repair?
Yes. Reword the third question as weekly service, a one-time cleanup, or equipment repair, with numbered replies. A pump job and a green pool are different visits.
Can it collect gate codes?
It can ask, and the answer comes to you with the lead. Decide for yourself whether you want gate codes sitting in a text thread.
My route customers call about scheduling all the time. Will they get texted?
Any missed call matching your triggers gets your text, and a per-caller cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops repeat texts. Leave triggers off for the hours you have covered.
Do I need a new phone for the truck?
No. Forwarding is set on the number customers already call, from the phone you already carry.
Do I have to change my number?
No. Each business gets its own dedicated texting number, and the text goes out in your business's name, while callers keep dialing your usual line.
What does it cost?
After a 14-day free trial: $169/mo month-to-month, $139/mo on a 12-month plan billed monthly, or $1,548 a year on a 12-month plan billed annually. A card is required to start, and you won't be charged if you cancel during the trial.
Can I stop it in the off-season?
On the month-to-month plan you cancel in the app and keep access through the end of the month you've paid for. The 12-month plans are yearly agreements with no mid-term cancellation, so pick the plan that matches how you run the year.
