For landscaping and lawn care
Cut grass. Don’t chase calls.
Opulentus is missed call text back for landscapers, not a live answering service. When a mower is running you can’t hear the phone. The caller gets a text from your business in seconds, tells you which property needs quoting, and waits for you. You reply before you load the trailer.
The calls a lawn crew misses.
On the mower
The deck drowns out the ring.
You’re on a stand-on with ear protection, and the phone is in the truck cab two properties back. The caller hears from your business anyway.
On the route
Stops don’t wait for a phone call.
Eight or ten properties a day only works if each one stays short. A quote call in the middle of it costs you the next stop.
Signup season
Everyone calls the same two weeks.
Quote requests land while you’re still finishing cleanups. They get your questions instead of your voicemail.
What a lawn caller sees.
This example uses your own first message, the ZIP code question reworded for a property, and the third question set to mowing frequency.
Example text. Example Lawn Co. is a made-up business.
The questions you’d ask on the phone.
There are six, in a fixed order. Three are on when you start and three are off. You write the wording for all of them.
On to start
- Service. Mowing, a spring cleanup, mulch, or something else?
- ZIP code. Reword it to ask for the property address, so you know whether it sits on a route you already drive.
- Urgency. Reword it for frequency: weekly, every two weeks, or a one-time visit.
Off until you want them
- Description. Good place to ask about a gate, a dog, or how long the grass has gone.
- Photos. Invite a picture of the yard when a description won’t do it justice.
- Callback. Ask for the best number and time, for the quotes you’d rather walk through by phone.
Your rules for every missed call.
When it texts
- Missed during hours. The workhorse on a route. You’re working dawn to dusk, so that’s when the calls land.
- Busy or declined. You were on with a customer, or you sent the call away to finish a pass.
- After hours. Worth turning on for signup season, when homeowners call at night after seeing your truck. More on after hours.
What it skips
- Hidden numbers. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs don’t get a text.
- Repeat callers. A cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops text after text.
- Opt-outs. The first text says “Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.
How it works.
Step one
Set it up yourself.
Start your free trial, pick Landscaping & lawn care, and write your message and your questions. Your words, your hours, your rules.
Step two
Forward your missed calls.
Keep the number on your trailer. On a cell phone, dial your carrier’s codes. On a VoIP line, your phone provider turns forwarding on. Then tap Verify. See the forwarding codes.
Step three
Get back on the mower.
Missed callers get a text in seconds. Their answers land in your inbox, and you get a text alert on the phone in your pocket.

Questions landscapers ask.
Is this a landscaping answering service?
No. Nobody picks up your phone. When you miss a call, the caller gets a text from your business in seconds, answers the questions you set, and the lead comes to you. You reply when the mower is off.
Can it get me the property address before I call back?
Yes. The ZIP code question is on by default and you can reword it to ask for the property address. You find out whether the job is on your route before you spend a call on it.
Can it quote a lawn for me?
No. It collects the answers you asked for and hands you the conversation. Pricing stays your call, after you have seen the property.
Can I ask whether the yard has a gate or a dog?
Yes. Turn on the description question and write that in. It is off by default, and your words are what the caller reads.
I run a truck and a trailer with no office. Does that matter?
No. There is no office hardware and no second phone. You forward the calls you miss from the phone you already carry on the route.
Do I have to change my number?
No. Customers keep calling the number on your trailer. Each business gets its own dedicated texting number, and the text goes out in your business's name.
What does it cost?
After a 14-day free trial: $169/mo month-to-month, $139/mo on a 12-month plan billed monthly, or $1,548 a year on a 12-month plan billed annually. A card is required to start the trial, and you won't be charged if you cancel during the 14 days.
How do I know the forwarding worked?
Setup ends with a Verify step that places a real test call. On a VoIP line there is no dial code: your phone provider turns on conditional forwarding for no answer and busy, then you tap Verify.
