For HVAC companies
Looking for an HVAC answering service? Try a text back first.
Opulentus isn’t a live answering service. Nobody picks up your phone. When you miss a call, the caller gets a text from your business in seconds, so they don’t call the next company. It’s a lighter option than a live answering service.
What it is, and what it isn’t.
A live answering service
A person answers for you.
Calls go to an outside team. They pick up, take a message, and pass it on. If you want a human voice on every call, that’s the tool for it.
Opulentus
A fast text to every caller you miss.
Your phone rings like it does today. If you can’t pick up, the caller gets a text, answers your questions, and the lead comes to you. You keep your number.
Built for the calls HVAC shops miss.
On a job
Hands full, phone ringing.
You’re in an attic or on a rooftop unit. The caller still hears from you right away, and you reply when you’re down.
After hours
A separate after-hours text.
Set your hours. Calls after close get their own message, so the caller knows you got the call and when you’ll follow up.
No heat, no AC
Spot the emergencies.
Ask if it’s urgent. A caller with a dead furnace can reply 1 for urgent service, so you know which lead to call back first.
What your callers see.
You write the messages and pick the questions: the service they need, their ZIP code, and how urgent it is.
Example only. Example Heating & Air is a made-up business.
You choose when it texts.
Turn on any mix of these. Each one is a switch in setup.
During the day
- Missed during business hours. The call rang and nobody picked up.
- Busy. You were already on another call.
- Declined. You sent the call away because you couldn’t talk.
After close
- Missed after hours. The caller gets your after-hours message instead.
- No repeat floods. A cooldown stops the same caller getting text after text.
- Opt-out built in. The first text in a conversation says “Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.
- Hidden numbers skipped. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs don’t get a text.
How it works.
Step one
Set it up yourself.
Start your free trial, create your account, and answer a short set of questions. Your words, your hours, your rules.
Step two
Forward your missed calls.
Keep the number your customers already call. Forwarding codes from your phone send missed calls to Opulentus. On a VoIP line, your provider turns it on. Then tap Verify to confirm it works. See the forwarding codes.
Step three
Never lose a caller.
Every call you can’t take gets a text back in seconds. Questions get answered, and the lead comes to you, not a competitor.

Questions HVAC owners ask.
Is Opulentus an HVAC answering service?
No. Nobody answers your phone for you. When you miss a call, Opulentus texts the caller back in seconds, asks the questions you choose, and sends you the lead. You reply when you're free.
Do answering services still exist?
Yes. Live answering services still take calls for HVAC companies. Opulentus is a different kind of tool. It doesn't answer calls. It texts back the callers you miss.
How much does it cost?
We can only speak to our own prices. After a 14-day free trial, Opulentus is $169/mo month-to-month, $139/mo on a 12-month plan billed monthly, or $1,548 a year on a 12-month plan billed annually. A card is required to start the trial. Cancel during the 14 days and you won't be charged.
Is there a free answering service available?
Opulentus isn't free, and it isn't an answering service. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, so you can try it on real calls first. A card is required, and you won't be charged if you cancel during the trial.
Is this a virtual receptionist or an AI receptionist?
No. Opulentus doesn't talk to your customers on the phone. It sends the text you write and asks the questions you set. You stay in control of every reply.
What number does the text come from?
Each business gets its own dedicated texting number, and the text is sent in your business's name. Customers still call your usual number.
Will a customer who calls three times get three texts?
No. There's a cooldown, so a caller who tries you a few times in a row doesn't get flooded. Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.
Does it text spam calls?
Calls from blocked, withheld, anonymous, or invalid caller IDs are skipped. They get no text and don't show up as leads. Other calls are treated like any missed call, and the cooldown keeps a repeat caller from getting text after text.
Does it work with an office landline or VoIP phone?
VoIP, yes. VoIP lines don't use a dial code: ask your phone provider to turn on conditional call forwarding, for no answer and busy, to your Opulentus number, then tap Verify in setup. A traditional landline depends on the phone company, and some won't turn this kind of forwarding on, so book a call with the button at the top of this page and we'll check yours with you first.
How do I know it's set up right?
Setup has a Verify step that places a real test call and confirms your calls forward. If nothing shows it working 48 hours after you go live, we check in with you.
