For pest control

You’re in the crawl space. The roach call isn’t waiting.

Opulentus is missed call text back for pest control, not a live answering service. A person standing in a kitchen full of ants is not in a patient mood. The caller gets a text from your business in seconds, says what they’re seeing and where, and you call back already knowing which job it is.

The calls a tech misses.

Suited up

Respirator on, sprayer in hand.

Nothing about that setup lets you take a call. The caller hears from your business anyway, in your words.

Out of signal

Under the house, in the attic.

Crawl spaces and attics take both hands and most of your signal. The text goes out without you.

Stacked route

Quarterly accounts run back to back.

The new-customer call lands between two treatments. It gets your questions instead of your voicemail greeting.

A text back or a pest control answering service?

A live answering service

Someone else picks up.

An outside team answers your line, takes the details, and sends you a message. It fits when you want a person on every call, day and night.

Opulentus

You pick up, or they get a text.

Your line rings like it does today. Calls you miss get a text with your questions: what pest, which ZIP code, home or business. You keep your number.

What a pest caller sees.

This example uses your own first message, the ZIP code question, and the third question reworded as home or business.

The questions you’d ask on the phone.

There are six, in a fixed order. Three are on when you start and three are off. You write the wording for all of them.

On to start

  • Service. What pest they’re seeing. Bed bugs and ants are two different trucks.
  • ZIP code. Whether the address falls inside the route a tech already runs.
  • Urgency. Reword it as home or business, or keep it as urgent versus a scheduled visit.

Off until you want them

  • Description. How long it’s been going on, inside or outside, and whether there are pets or small children.
  • Photos. A picture settles the identification argument before a tech drives out.
  • Callback. Best number and time, for termite and bed bug jobs worth a conversation.

Your rules for every missed call.

When it texts

  • Missed during hours. First switch to turn on: your techs are in treatments all day.
  • Busy or declined. You were already on with a customer, or the call came mid-treatment.
  • After hours. Worth turning on, because people find roaches and bed bugs at night and call the first number they see. More on after hours.

What it skips

  • Hidden numbers. Blocked, withheld, and anonymous caller IDs don’t get a text.
  • Repeat callers. A cooldown, 4 hours by default, stops text after text.
  • Opt-outs. The first text says “Reply STOP to opt out.” Anyone who replies STOP stops getting texts.

How it works.

Step one

Set it up yourself.

Start your free trial, pick Pest control, and write your message and your questions. Your words, your hours, your rules.

Step two

Forward your missed calls.

Keep your listed number. On a cell phone, dial your carrier’s codes. On a VoIP line, your phone provider turns forwarding on. Then tap Verify. See the forwarding codes.

Step three

Finish the treatment.

Missed callers get a text in seconds. Their answers land in your inbox, and you get a text alert when a lead comes in.

Questions pest control owners ask.

Is Opulentus a pest control answering service?

No. It doesn't answer calls and nobody talks to your customer. It texts the callers you miss, asks the questions you set, and sends you the lead.

Can it tell me what pest it is before I call back?

Yes, if that's your first question. Bed bugs versus ants changes which tech you send and what you quote, so it's worth asking before the callback.

Can it ask whether there are pets or small children in the home?

Yes. Turn on the description question and write that in. The answer arrives with the lead, so you can plan the treatment before you pick up the phone.

Will it text my quarterly accounts every time they call?

A per-caller cooldown, 4 hours by default, keeps a repeat caller from getting text after text. You can also leave triggers off for the hours your office is covered.

Do termite and bed bug callers get the same message?

They get the message you wrote for that trigger, and after-hours calls get their own message. The questions do the sorting, not the greeting.

Do I have to change my number?

No. Customers keep calling your listed number. Each business gets its own dedicated texting number, and the text goes out in your business's name.

What does it cost?

After a 14-day free trial: $169/mo month-to-month, $139/mo on a 12-month plan billed monthly, or $1,548 a year on a 12-month plan billed annually. A card is required to start, and you won't be charged if you cancel during the trial.

We have an office line and cell phones. Which one gets forwarded?

Whichever line you want covered. On a VoIP line your phone provider turns on conditional forwarding for no answer and busy, then Verify places a test call to confirm it. If the office line is a traditional landline, book a call with the button at the top of this page first, and we'll check whether your phone company can forward it.
